April is coming, which means it’s almost time for my annual trip. This year I will be heading back to France, spending some time in one of my favourite cities, Paris. Since I’ve already created a What to eat in Paris list, here is my “What to Eat in Paris – Part 2”
Making Thanksgiving dinner can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be. I won’t lie, the first time I made Thanksgiving dinner I was living across the country and attacking this one my own. I must’ve called my mom every half hour to ask “what’s next?!”. As nervous as I was, everything turned out great. A little preparation, timing, good company and a couple bottles of wine (uh duh!) was all I needed to survive.
Last week, I returned from my annual Mother & Daughter trip. This year’s destination: Orlando & Miami. Obviously the main reason we went to Florida was to go to Disney World. Everyone had asked me if I had been before, this would be my first time. I went to Disneyland when I was 4 years old, but I don’t remember very much. I was a little skeptical of going to Disney as an adult, especially visiting without children. Would I be too old? Will I enjoy myself? Is Disney just for kids? I was soon to be able to answer my questions.
I know I’m a few months late with this post – but it’s finally here. Back in April 2014, Mom and I travelled to Hawaii for 12 days. We visited the islands of Maui and Oahu. Here are some of the highlights of the fantastic Hawaiian food we had.
This year marks a big birthday for me, the big 3-0! I want to say farewell to my twenties and welcome my thirties with a bang. Originally, Ireland and Scotland were the destinations of choice, but as time went by, my other half started suggested going to Rome. Since many flights have layovers across Europe, including Munich and we are going at the prime time of Oktoberfest, Munich has now been added to the itinerary. I figured that since we will be visiting a Tuscan winery, and take a cooking class in Rome, I wanted to do something for the man – what’s better than the biggest beer festival in the world? So here it is folks, “Meeesh’s What to Eat in Munich and Rome”
In 25 days, I’ll be embarking on a plane headed to Hawaii (but who’s counting?!). Therefore, it’s that time again for my list of things to eat when traveling. The cuisine of Hawaii is a fusion of many cultures, particularly American, Chinese, Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Polynesian and Portuguese. The following are dishes that I am very much excited to try, and I also have included a few that are not particular favorites of mine, and I may skip them. Enjoy!
I have a big birthday coming up this year, I will be saying goodbye to my awesome 20’s and welcoming my fabulous 30’s with open arms. I’ve been thinking of this birthday for quite some time now and wondering what would be the best way to celebrate those great memories made in my prime of becoming an adult… (let’s be honest, I don’t think I’m quite there yet)
Since before the Olympics in Sochi, there has been many movements from all over the world to fight for the human rights of the LGTBQ community in Russia. The Canadian Institute of Diversity and Inclusion, who’s vision is to “be the trusted advisor for diversity and inclusion, human rights and equity and human resources practitioners, and the most recognized organization for diversity and inclusion in Canada’s workplaces” released a video to promote just that.
I have to stay late at work tonight, and, well.. we still need to eat. I told my husband that he will have to prepare dinner tonight since I won’t be home in time to do it. Normally when it’s his turn to “make” dinner, we have quite an elaborate meal from Italy’s best Pizza from the joint down the street, to my favorite Cantonese Chow Mein and Sweet and Sour Chicken Balls from the family owned Chinese restaurant around the corner. But since I have everything I need to make dinner at home, I decided to put him to the test… He’s going to MAKE dinner tonight.

I came across this post from a fellow Facebook friend that I thought was worth sharing. People these days, myself included; seem to have an obsession with taking pictures of our food. This fascinating series consist of pictures of one week’s worth of groceries for families from around the world. It’s really interesting to see the difference between countries and cultures.
I got an email today from a coworker with this fantastic youth friendly cookbook. I think it’s fantastic, not only to bring in healthy cooking for youth, but also for those beginner cooks who are looking for easy, yet healthy meal ideas.
Take the guesswork out of summertime grilling and serve up the tastiest, juiciest dishes every time.
Click on the above link to see Condra, Anderson, Turris and Smith (with a very special guest) ham it up for a short film at my Napolis Cafe restaurant for the Sens Foundation. Love the pout on Condra, yum yum.
When Mom and I decided that we wanted to take a trip this year, choosing the destination wasn’t clear cut. Did we want to visit somewhere we had never been before like Scotland, England or San Fransisco, or return to one of our favorite cities, Paris?! Well let’s just say, it didn’t take much convincing on either sides to choose Paris!
We’ve all heard and/or had the pleasure to read the novel series Fifty Shades of Grey – It’s known for its explicitly erotic scenes featuring elements of sexual practices involving bondage, dominance, and submission. Well now there’s a book for the ones who love food: 50 shades of Chicken
Looking for menu ideas for dinner for that Special Someone on Valentine’s Day? You can always go the Disney route with the classic Spaghetti & Meatball dish… But here are a few other menu ideas that I’m sure will cater to everyone. Enjoy!
My mom has always told me that I am one of the most impatient people she knows. I hate waiting for things, I want them to happen now! With my trip to Paris fast-approaching (103 days… but who’s counting?!), my research and past experience in Paris has already lead me to a list, a pretty extensive list, of things I want to see, do, visit, and EAT! Some may call it being a keener, or eager, or enthusiastic, but I would consider this as being prepared… and super pumped!!!
Having people over, but you don’t have hours to prepare your menu? Have no fear, President’s Choice is here!
5 Ingredient Recipes are very convenient and generally inexpensive – especially if most of the ingredients you already hold in your pantry or fridge.
It’s that time of the year again; we’re all starting to get our invites to our work and friends Christmas/Holiday Parties. So we ask ourselves the same question we do every year – “What am I going to make?“
By the time we leave work, go to the store, get home, the last thing we want to do is spend hours in the kitchen cooking! Well here are some of my favorite meals that take 30 minutes or less!
Last night I couldn’t decide what to make for dinner, I had so many ideas running through my head – therefore, I decided: Why not make Tapas!
I came across this company who create personalized cutting boards, and, of course, I couldn’t resist!
Anyone who knows me really well will know that I LOVE Kraft Dinner! Yes – the one who enjoys making all these different varieties of food could not live without Kraft Dinner! It’s one of my FAVORITE foods!
So we’ve all see the commercial, and I must say that these Decadent Molten Chocolate Chip Cookie are maybe the most amazing thing since sliced bread!! Just 40-55 seconds and you have a wonderful, gooey, chocolatey goodness!!
So I FINALLY got to use my Rachael Ray Stoneware Lasagna Lover dish!! I’ve been wanting this dish for months now, and since they don’t have them here in Canada, or ship to Canada, I decided it was time for a Syracuse Shopping Trip!
