Old Fashion Pancakes

Creating your own homemade pancake batter is very easy. This recipe is simple, quick and will satisfy all the pancake lovers in your home.

INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups all-purpose Flour
3 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt
1 tbsp White Sugar
1 1/4 cups Milk
1 Egg
3 tbsp Butter, melted

DIRECTIONS

Combine the milk, egg and melted butter, mix well.

In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk mixture, mix until smooth. For fluffy pancakes, let the batter sit for 15 minutes.

While waiting for the batter, pre-heat your oven at 200F and place and oven safe plate in the oven.

Heat a lightly oiled frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the pan, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake. Brown on both sides. Place the pancake in the oven to keep warm, and repeat until all the batter is used. Remove the pancakes from the oven and serve.

Helpful Tip: When you first pour the batter onto the pan, you’ll know when its time to flip the pancake when bubbles start to form on the top of the uncooked pancake. This will tell you the bottom is cooked and nicely golden.
