Making Sushi

One of my favorite foods is Sushi – I could eat it every day. But I’ve always wanted to try and make it. I’ve eaten it enough that I practically know what ingredients are in all my favorite rolls.

So we rushed over to our local Asian Superstore – which, by the way, is an experience on its own. I think I walked up and down the same isle 5-6 times, trying to find what I was looking for. But hey! Next time, I’ll know where to go! – and got all the basic ingredients we needed for our sushi night:

  • Sticky Sushi Rice
  • Seaweed Sheets
  • Cucumber
  • Avocado
  • Crab Meat
  • Cured Salmon
  • Cured Tuna
  • Shrimp Tempura

And not to forget the main tool – the bamboo mat

We watched a few YouTube videos, and off we went. Surprisingly, it turned out better than I thought it would for our first time. Now that we are PROS, next time we will start experimenting a bit more.

Try it yourself – Its fun! It makes for a great reason to have people over.
