In February 2020, Mom and I were in Paris, and we happened to be there on February 14. I wanted to plan a fun activity for Valentine’s Day, so I searched for cooking classes. I stubbled upon Le Foodist, they offer a variety of different cooking, baking and pastry classes. When I saw the macaron class, it was perfect for two people who love to eat them!
Working in pairs, we picked a colour and a flavour (lemon, raspberry, pistachio or chocolate). We selected yellow and lemon. Starting with the Italian Meringue base and then the filling, everything was from scratch and hands-on. We learned the proper piping technique, and once baked, we assembled our macarons.
Overall, we had a great time! I’ve been to Paris multiple times, this experience would probably be one of my favourite things to do. I would strongly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Paris. The best part of this class, as a group you get to eat your creations and take home with you what ever is left over.
