INGREDIENTS
1 pkg Active Dry Yeast
1 tsp Sugar
1 cup warm Water
Olive Oil
3 cups “00” Flour
DIRECTIONS
In your electric mixer’s bowl, mix the yeast, water, and sugar until it’s all dissolved. Let mixture stand until the yeast is activated – about 5 – 10 minutes.
Attach the dough hook to the mixer. On LOW add the salt and 2 tbsp of oil. Add the flour, a little bit at a time. When it starts coming together, increase to MEDIUM speed.
If mixture is too Crumbly – add more warm water, a little bit at a time
If mixture is too Sticky – add more flour, a little bit at a time
Knead the dough on a clean, floured surface until it’s smooth and elastic. Roll into a ball and place in a lightly oiled bowl, turning it making sure the dough is completely coated with oil. Cover with saran wrap or a damp towel until it’s doubled in size – about 1 hour.
Once dough has risen, bring back to the floured surface and cut into 3 pieces, cover the pieces with a damp cloth and let stand for 10 minutes – this will make it easier to work with.
